Are your drone pilots licensed?
Yes, all our pilots are FAA licensed with proper recurrent training.
Do you have insurance?
Yes we carry a worldwide commercial drone policy for $5 Million.
Where are you located?
We are located in Malibu, CA and serve the Los Angeles area. However we travel inside and outside the United States for our clients.
Do you have Local 600 Union Operators?
We have a great relationship with the local 600 and can obtain waivers or use local 600 operators in our network.
Do you have Non-Union Operators?
Yes, we can operate as Non-Union operators as well.
Can you fly “here”?
Idk, give us a call or use this service.
Can I see what you are filming?
Yes, all of our drones have the ability to output video to our remote monitors or your video village.
Can you fly over people?
We are allowed to fly over participants of the production, not the general public. If we have enough time to file the waiver (30days), we can fly over the public.
Can you fly over moving vehicles?
Yes, we can fly over vehicles that are part of the production and cars that are stationary that are not part of production.
Can you fly at night?
Yes, we have an FAA Night Waiver.
What cameras do you fly?
Most of our drones have very capable integrated cameras. However we can use the Alta8 to fly the RED, ARRI Mini or up to 12lbs of camera gear as long as it fits on the Freefly Movi Pro.
Do I need to obtain permits for drone filming?
If production is already pulling a film permit, just alert the permitting office that you would like to fly a drone and give them our information and we will take care of all the paperwork necessary for permitting and insurance. You do not need drone specific permits unless you are only using a drone and this of course varies per jurisdiction.
Can drones fly in all weather conditions?
Depending on the aircraft, winds can affect the performance of the drones but we can fly in winds up to 35 mph on the Inspire series of aircraft. While the drones can fly in rain, we have found in the past that the camera lenses get fouled from rain drops.
What is the maximum altitude or distance your drones can fly?
Most of our drones have a maximum ceiling of 13,000ft. Performance does change with altitude.
On the Inspire and Mavic series drones they can fly up to a mile away with an unobstructed view of the aircraft.
Can drones be used for indoor video shoots?
We have used drones inside many times and even have special lenses and support equipment to help aid safely flying indoors.
What safety measures do you take during a drone shoot?
We have developed an operation manual approved by the FAA for Film and Television that outlines all of our procedures checklists. We maintain a perfect safety record on set.
Do you provide live streaming services with drones?
We have shot many drone live streaming programs for broadcast television.
Do you offer drone photography in addition to video?
Yes, we offer drone photography as well. We can carry film camera bodies on our Alta 8 and remotely trigger them.
What is a Dual Operator Setup?
A dual-operator drone setup involves two specialized roles: one operator focuses solely on piloting the drone, ensuring precise flight control and safety, while the other manages the camera, optimizing framing, focus, and composition in real time. By separating flight and camera responsibilities, this setup ensures safer operations, faster shot execution, and superior image quality—making it the preferred choice for professional film production.
Can we destroy your drone?
If production is willing to pay for the loss of the drone then we will destroy our equipment.
Can your drone drop things?
Yes we can make our drones remotely triggered to drop “things” if it is in a controlled environment.
