How fast can a drone unit be on set for a commercial in Los Angeles?
We have delivered aerial content for global campaigns on one-day notice. The limiting factor is usually the permit, not the crew: FilmLA aerial riders and LAANC authorization carry their own lead times, and we start those the moment the location list is confirmed.
What cameras can fly on a commercial shoot?
The DJI Inspire 3 with Zenmuse X9 covers most brand work in 8K full-frame with ProRes RAW. When the spot is shot on ARRI, the Freefly Alta 8 carries the production’s own Alexa Mini so the aerial matches the A camera through the grade. FPV rigs handle high-speed vehicle and fly-through moves.
Do you work with the agency’s DP and AD, or as a separate unit?
We coordinate directly with the DP and 1st AD in pre-production, arrive as a complete aerial unit, and run on production comms. Footage is delivered in the codec and container the post house specifies. We do not subcontract the flight.
Are you insured and permitted for agency and brand work?
Yes. FAA Part 107 certified pilots, active night flight waiver, insured for motion picture and television production, and a Netflix Approved Vendor. A certificate of insurance and a written flight plan go to production before the first call.
